Total selects Datum360 for ground breaking Norwegian Offshore Development project
The Datum360 solution captured engineering information for the build of the world’s most sustainable oil and gas production projects. It provided a valuable handover from design to operations and acts as the data warehouse for the facilities asset data.
A key objective of the Martin Linge project was to bring technological innovations to the oil and gas production industry designed to significantly reduce environmental impacts and enhance operational safety.
Datum360 was implemented ‘off the shelf’, and was successfully used to develop the specification for gathering the engineering information. It now acts as the data management warehouse for the ongoing collection, update and assurance and single point of truth for the facility.
Datum360 was rapidly deployed within one week, in a sector traditionally dominated by lengthy implementation, failed delivery and spiralling costs. With the average engineering information management contract awarded at c.£3-£5 million, Datum360’s contract award could also potentially transform the industry by demonstrating the cost effectiveness available to owner operators through the implementation from off the shelf solutions that can be deployed and adopted by users in a rapid timeframe.
Speaking about the project, Steve Wilson, CEO at Datum360 said:
“We are incredibly proud to have implemented Datum360 in little under one week. This is incredibly rare in a sector where engineering information management can traditionally take months and years at pilot stage, frequently never going live and costing owner operators millions.”
“Our speed and quality of deployment firmly demonstrates our ability to provide most efficient service to owner operators. It is ever important to add value, build trust and ultimately do more for less by delivering efficiencies with our Cloud based solution.”
And this is a sentiment echoed by Total whose Specialist Engineer in Maintenance, Tom N.Svennevig, said;
“From the outset Datum360 has supplied constant, high quality advice. They’ve understood our requirements and then, using their Cloud based solution, have helped us specify, collect and assure the delivery of engineering information.”
“They’ve very much become a trusted member of our team.”
Crucially Datum360’s scope of work supports Total’s Operating Philosophy of minimising offshore operating scope by increasing the quality of Engineering Information and thus enabling operators to work onshore.
Total expect the Datum360’s solution to be the center of Engineering Information for the ongoing operating phase of the Martin Linge Asset.
Datum360 has a team of specialists operating across oil and gas projects, from design through to operations and decommissioning. They have delivered the Datum360 solution to most of the world’s super major oil companies and boast clients including Maersk Oil, Total, BP and GDF Suez (now Engie).
